He was incubated on the way to the hospital. He was found to be moving his upper extremities grossly but there was no movement of his lower extremities.<\/p>\n<p>On examination he was able to move shoulder and elbow and was found to have an incomplete neurological deficit in his upper and lower extremity.<\/p>\n<p>An urgent CT scan was performed which showed Cervical Spine injury with unilateral facet dislocation of C6-7 on the right side with fracture of the pedicle along with sublxation of C6 over C7 vertebra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10749 aligncenter size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/2025divi.cortho.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Snag_22e295eb.png\" alt=\"C6 over C7 vertibrae\" width=\"513\" height=\"385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/2025divi.cortho.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Snag_22e295eb.png 513w, https:\/\/2025divi.cortho.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Snag_22e295eb-480x360.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 513px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10750 aligncenter size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/2025divi.cortho.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Snag_22e39569.png\" alt=\"Jumped Facets Right Side\" width=\"273\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The facet dislocation was causing compression of the spinal cord at the neck level and the patient had an incomplete neurological deficit. He needed urgent surgery to remove the compression of the spinal cord.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to the operating room immediately where the dislocation was reduced. Due to the dislocation, the capsule and the disc of the same level was damaged, and the spine was unstable.<\/p>\n<p>To regain the stability back the spine was fused from the front as well as from the back using plate, screw and rods.
